Exile

Blood curdled screams are echoed inside of a sealed chamber. Crackling whips of electricity, follow the screams of pain like a beautifully orchestrated symphony. A small framed Rodian, oversees the events, within the chamber. He is working a console that seems to control the flow and current of the electricity coming from the nearby examination table. Atop the table a man writhes in agony, by the intensity of his torture. His vision is blurry and his senses are dull, yet the atmosphere feels familiar to him as he is tortured. A large Chiss male and a human female stand idly by as the Rodian proceeds with the torture. Their eyes cold and calculated, frozen to any signs of remorse or pity for the man as they watch. The female nods to the Rodian signaling him to stop, and in that instant the screams subside. She approaches slowly eying the man carefully, as she trails a finger over his forehead whipping sweat from his brow. The man begins weeping lowly, fear setting in as he was helpless against his captors.  The female leans in a few meters from his face and begins speaking to him. "Well, well. To think that a splendid agent like Everic Martin would bawl like this. It's downright pathetic, but not unexpected. You know the procedures that we apply here at Imperial Intelligence, so this outcome shouldn't be a surprise to you." She explained in a stuck up manner. Everic begins coughing up wildly, his breathing is heavy as he pants and tries to gasp for air. His eyes are nearly shut as he was severely beaten and bruised before being brought there. His eyes half-opened, he looks at the woman and tries to force out some words to her. "Y-you...you don't...understand...I..I'm...not..." He tries to continue but is cut off abruptly by the woman as she back hands his face. He doesn't move his face from the angle it was moved to by the force of her blow. She holds her hand trying to alleviate the pain by rubbing it as she turns to face her Chiss counterpart. "Heimer, your much more suited to handling our current situation. Would you please persuade Mr. Martin here, to reveal all that he knows about operation Hammaton Effect?" She asked patting his shoulder proceeding to the exit. The large Chiss named Heimer steps in further towards Everic leaning in slightly, he then takes out a thin baton and begins poking certain pressure points around his cortex. He continues this silently, his gaze focused on finding a specific mark, until he presses against a soft spot. A small yet horrid grin is followed by him stepping away from Everic, flashing his baton before his eyes. "I must tell you. I've heard of some of your exploits. You may even go as far as to say that I'm a fan of your work." He says swatting his baton back and forth in his hand. "It pains me to see such a great operative of the Empire in such a state. Truly." He explains looking on with his red eyes. Everic looks up, listening to his potential next tormentor, fear swelling up in his eyes with each passing word. Heimer then presents his baton before his face once more, then grins happily at it. "This is a weapon of beauty, sleek well concealed, and in the right hands deadly. Yet this is far more than your ordinary baton. I made it myself with a few minor adjustments." He says twisting the hilt slightly, revealing a thin sharp needle. Everic begins to hyperventilate at the sight of the needle, yet he tried to remain calm, preserving his strength for the coming torture. "This needle is often hidden to the naked eye. I have a keen intellect of the anatomy of most common species, including your race my friend. I've managed to develop a toxin that invades the body causing paralysis as well as severe tissue damage if left untreated. The pain from my observation is...quite unbearable. Compared to what your about to face my friend the pain you've endured will have been like pleasure in your mind.." He says lowly closing in to jab his abdomen, while Everic shrieks in pain. The agonizing cries of pain echo louder than before inside of the sealed chamber as the Chiss named Heimer, utilizes his torture device.

Heimer exits the sealed chamber, wiping his hands with a handkerchief. The Rodian was left inside with the now dead corpse of Everic. Heimer clears his throat as he approaches his female counterpart then stops before her. "Everic Martin is dead. Whatever secrets he had, he took with him to his grave." He told her coldly. The woman scoffed angrily, then peered at Heimer clearly irritated that he hadn't gotten the information she had desired. "So you let your impulses run wild did you? I knew that damn baton of yours would be too much eventually. I didn't expect it to easily subdue an agent like Everic Martin however." She said in a low voice. She gestured for Heimer to follow her as they proceeded further down a long corridor which led to an elevator, just fifty meters ahead of their position. They walked slowly side by side, both of them in sync with each others step. "What else did he say? He seemed very frightened during the entire interrogation." She asked him. Heimer grunted slightly, he had his hand fiddling against his prized baton before he gave her a look and answered. "He kept repeating himself over and over again. He said I'm not, several times. It seemed like he was trying to say more but the rest turned to mumbling after that." He explained to her. Kalia frowned at Heimer's explanation, another question which could no longer be answered, for Everic Martin was dead. The pair entered the elevator and remained silent on their journey upward. As they exited the elevator, the woman called Kalia received an incoming holo-message from the Rodian in the sealed chamber below. "Sir! You must return to the interrogation sector immediately!! T-there's something you need to see..." He stammered across the holo. Kalia turned, grim faced towards Heimer and headed straight for the elevator. They descended down immediately. Kalia gestures towards Heimer to ready his blaster as she in turn readied her own. As the doors opened, the pair did a sweep and clear of the corridor. It wasn't possible for anyone to hide themselves down here, as there was one way in, and one way out. They cautiously made their way to the durasteel door and breached it looking around as the Rodian stood there with his hands in the air startled at their entry. "W-wait! Don't shoot!"He exclaimed. Kalia looked back at Heimer to stand watch as she lowered her weapon and approached the Rodian. "What is so pressing that we had to come back down here?" She said in a calm tone. The Rodian swallowed hard clearly intimidated, by the stern Imperial woman. "S-see for yourself sir..." He pointed to the corpse. Eying the Rodian with a glare, Kalia turned to a sight of disbelief. The man who laid dead on the table was not Everic Martin. Kalia's mouth opened slightly, astonished by the sight. Heimer, hearing her gasp turns as he knew nothing startled his counterpart easily. He too found himself in awe of the spectacle, completely thrown off guard and dumb founded. "This...this is the agent we sent to apprehend Everic...." Kalia mumbled softly. Heimer moved closer, observing his waist closely, he then gave a snicker. "To think we missed this holo projector, such a simple tactic. He knew we would over analyze, reclamations is getting sloppy." He said with a smirk of admiration. The lights within the chamber went out as the trio shortly found themselves in a state of panic. Emergency lights came on along with a siren alarm indicating an intruder was on the premises. Kalia still baffled by the fact that they had been fooled by such a tactic, gave Heimer a look as they once again scanned down the hall which was now a corridor of red light and shadow.

Kalia, the Imperial Intelligence operative, alongside her counterpart Heimer remained inside of the sealed chamber during the facility lock down, the door wide open with only one way in or out. The Rodian found himself huddled in a dark corner, his back firmly against the interior, a look of sheer terror on his face. Kalia shifted her position stacking on Heimer looking over his shoulder trailing for any movement in the corridor. "Command, whats going on?!" She said in a hushed voice. All she managed to receive was static as muffled sounds of blaster fire and concussive explosions went off in the feedback. "It must be the local gangs of the Black Suns influence here. Our meeting with Ordoba wasn't a very smooth one." Heimer said still peering down the corridor. Kalia thought for a moment at his statement, she went over the intel they had on his organization and knew he didn't have the forces to try to take their facility, let alone discover it's whereabouts. "Damnit it all! It must be him! It's Everic Martin!" She hissed angrily. Afraid to move, they remained in their position awaiting word from command on the situation outside on the upper levels. The comm chatter was completely distorted and the chat could barely be understood. A few moments later, the power restored and the alarm went silent. "This is command. There was a group of Mercenaries attempting to siege the facility, they are in full retreat now as they fell short before our superior fire power. Doing a routine security sweep on all levels scanning for intruders, all personnel must remain where you are during this process and have your Identification cards ready upon inspection. Stand by." The command officer said over the comm channel. Kalia looked on confused, then gave Heimer a look who responded with a shrug. The Rodian still terrified didn't move from his position as he remained latched onto the wall. Kalia gave Heimer a look after another quick scan of the corridor, signaling that they could holster their weapons. "Curious. I never would have expected a band of Mercs would be so bold as to attack an Imperial Facility." Heimer said looking down the corridor. Then a faint click emitted from within the sealed chamber as Kalia turned quickly, blaster aimed down her sights. She looked on at nothing more than the Rodian who still didn't move. "Heimer can you see anything?!" She asked shouting back. Noticing he didn't respond, Kalia did a quick 360 degree turn and watched Heimer as he held onto his neck with his hand. She lowered her blaster, watching him remove his hand, which revealed a dart in his neck. Within that instant the large Chiss collapsed to the ground. She heard the faint click again this time diving to the floor looking around frantically. The Rodian nearby collapsed immediately upon contact. Kalia's face was fearful as she couldn't tell what was going on, she tried to remain calm however and did not fire aimlessly. She felt like someone was behind her, the presence weighing on her body as her arms lowered in defeat. The stealth generator popped indicating the intruder's appearance. In a last attempt she tried to throw an elbow back along with advanced close quarters combat techniques to fend off the assailant. In the instant it took her to throw her elbow back, she was already unconscious.

Wind can be heard whipping within earshot very quickly. Kalia awakes letting out a lite sigh, she finds her world blackened as something is concealing her eyes. She tries to remain silent and calm, as not to alert her captor that she was awake. The altitude was beginning to affect her, as she became light headed and dizzy as they climbed higher. Her only guess was that she was on board a floating skiff.  She scarcely heard faint footsteps approach her, which caused her to remain still and silent. The air calmed at this moment as the steps encroached toward her position, stopping in place. She could feel a hand hover over the blindfold, that was hindering her sight slowly being removed. The bright light of the intense sun beamed before her, blinding her temporarily. A shadow came into her field of view, her eyesight slowly starting to come into focus. She peered upward at the figure clad in a uniquely styled stealth armoring, derived of possible nano-skeletal technology.  The figure stood before her, not saying a word only observing her. As she opened her mouth to speak, he raised his hand indicating that she remain silent. He then pushed a pressure plate around his neck, which caused the helm to fold away into the suit revealing his face. Kalia wasn't too surprised once she saw his face, yet was fearful of what it meant. "Everic..." She whispered lowly gazing into his face.  Like a towering monument, he stood before her, unwavering against the harshness of the elevating winds. His eyes were pierced, with the icy cold determination that shook her to the depths of her soul. In her mind, it may have been a blessing that he was not a Sith.  Her facial expression changed from shocked to grim, as she started to glare at him angrily. "Ansion is a beautiful place. Kalia I believe you know why I'm here..." He said to her casually. Kalia still glaring at him, twitched her nose and scoffed. "I have an idea. But then again, you're never after anything ordinary are you Everic?" She hissed. He nodded then walked closer and knelt down before her, nearly face to face. He glared back at Kalia, his quiet demeanor changing into a cold frenzy. "I know about your relationship with Jedi Master Iera Uminor." He said softly. Her eyes widened slightly, indicating he had hit a sensitive spot as she tried to lunge forward towards him. Everic placed his hand against her shoulder repelling the woman as she confirmed his suspicions. "You're a fool Everic! Meddling in things that are far above your station! A rogue agent, ousted and hunted by the Empire..you won't last long..." She snarled at him.  Everic sighed lowly then stood up before her. The skiff began to descend slightly as Everic peered back observing the surround, then glanced back at Kalia. "You seem like a reasonable woman. I only want to know if he has a particular Relic in his possession that's all." He asked calmly. Kalia still glaring at him with anger, raised a brow then grinned. "I'll tell you this Everic.. He is far too much for you to handle should you oppose him. A very rare Jedi indeed...its possible he may have acquired his power through these relics you speak of." She explained. Everic smirked back then nodded once more. "I mean to help him if you can believe that." He told her. Kalia looked on stunned then laughed loudly at him. "It's not enough that you abandoned the Empire...but now you're going to aid a Jedi?" She asked laughing uncontrollably. Everic smiled back at her briefly. "I have my reasons Kalia. Just as you do for sleeping with a Jedi." He added smugly. Her laughter was cut short by his comment, she peered back at his eyes, her expression serious now. "I am a loyal subject of the Empire. I am only doing my duty. Master Iera Uminor was easily swayed by my charms which is why I was chosen Everic. He is powerful, but not without temptation." She explained proudly. Everic listened intently then knelt before her once more. "Then it shouldn't be too difficult for you to give him up. Here's my proposal, I only want his location, then you're free to go. Report to Intelligence that you managed to escape or survive an ordeal with the likes of myself. You get out of this assignment if you detest it so much, and I gain what I'm after. Do we have an accord?" He asked. Kalia's attitude lightened up a bit as she heard his proposal. She leaned forward creeping closer to his face, then she attempted to headbutt him but was easily repelled. "You'll get nothing from me!" She hissed at him. Everic let out a sigh then nodded at her, he stood up and walked away towards the other portion of the skiff. "I figured as much, which is why I broke into your encrypted files. It appears you've been sending each other coded messages. I'm no expert but, it sounds as if you're a double agent working for the Republic. I could send these to the Minister of Intelligence himself, as an anonymous tip. I assure you, life would quickly change direction for you.." He threatened coldly. Kalia glared at him again, her eyes burning with a killing intent. Her hands began to tremble in her restraints, then she finally stopped looking away. "You'll get nothing from me..." She scoffed at him. Everic let out one last sigh then walked back towards her. He knelt down and began placing the blindfold back over her eyes, as Kalia tried to fight him off unsuccessfully. "Your loyalty is to be admired, but it will eventually cost you Kalia. The Empire is selfish and cares nothing for those who defend it. But I won't preach to you, just know that I'm heading to the Temple of Fog where Master Uminor is now. Sleep peacefully." He said subduing her. Everic watched her limp sleeping body then carefully lifted her up, placing her safely within the skiff. He then looked below and saw a cave, it seemed to emit an eerie presence as he observed. He took a few steps back then when he was within distance, he leaped off the skiff.

The entrance to the cave was unguarded and very spacious. Everic however taking no chances utilized his stealth generator to its fullest extent. He carefully and gracefully made his way deep inside of the cave. Nothing out of the ordinary was within as he traveled. Just an ominous crawling up his spine. It made him turn around quickly on guard, as he drew his vibroknife. Seeing nothing there, he slowly lowered his weapon holstering it then proceeded onward. He then came to an opening with several passage ways, each of them upon observation connected to multiple pathways. Carefully scanning each path, he heard a faint noise from the path on his right. It was like a whisper, only quieter. He glanced in that direction for a long moment before following that path. Deeper in the murky corridor, he heard a faint crying. It was a woman weeping, yet to him, the voice sounded familiar. He ran in a quickened pace, reasons unknown to him, his heart began racing in his chest. He came to another opening within the cave, where the weeping was coming from yet found nothing. He looked around several times before realizing he was in a cavern. He then heard the weeping woman scream, which caused him to bolt in the sounds direction. His heart was in a panic now, the voice was someone he knew, someone close to him. As he came to another spacious area he saw a woman knelt down weeping. He stopped, watching the figure cautiously, his heart still fearful for what he may discover. He slowly circled the figure watching as she continued to weep holding something in her arms. Everic's eyes widened as he saw a baby, dead in the mothers arms, as she cried out for her husband. He slumped to the ground, his spirit breaking before the horrid sight. The weeping woman finally looked at him, tears streaming down her cheeks as she extended a hand to him. Reluctantly he reached for it, then he heard the faint voice again. "Everic...don't..its not real..." The voice whispered. As he looked again, he saw a horrid disfigured Sith extending her hand alongside of another whom was held in her arms. Everic jumped back as the female pair rose to their feet drawing their lightsabers. Wasting no further time, he drew his assault blaster standing firm, aiming down at the pair, switching targets periodically. They both hissed in unison with each other, taking on the Juyo form for dual wielding lightsaber combat. "Welcome Everic." A familiar voice echoed from above. Everic felt his heart skip a beat from the ethereal voice, as he glanced above. His eyes widened as he saw the nightmare of his life, the only person he feared in the galaxy. "Angul..." He sneered. The pair of Sith shrieked at Everic lunging forward attacking wildly, slicing his rifle in half. His attention back on the dangerous duo, he rolled out of the way of their initial assault avoiding their blows. He wasted no time rushing cunningly towards the duo, quickly stunning one with a flash grenade, while the other twirled her sabers around at him. He dodged effectively several times, then at last drew his vibroknife, parrying her devastating blow. They were locked in a struggle for several seconds, the Sith using both of her sabers in an attempt to crush Everic's vibroknife. Realizing he would not falter, she delivered a knee to his abdomen then lowered her right saber attempting to sweep his legs clean off. In that instant, Everic barely managed to jump high enough to avoid losing his limbs. The Sith followed him aimlessly to the ground plunging her sabers downward. A shirk could be heard as Everic's knife broke through her armor. As she lunged down further the knife went deeper until she was dead. Everic pushed her off then heard the other Sith shrieking in agony, just again barely avoiding decapitation from a swipe she delivered. His vibroknife still planted in the other Sith he found himself disarmed as she swung wildly attempting to kill him. He then backed up a bit further then took a firm stance raising his arms in a defensive form. The Sith circled him partially, then force leaped to his position. Everic not moving dodged both blows from her sabers, then did a series of punches to her abdomen rising to her chest, then directly towards her left arm dislocating her shoulder in the process. She yelped in pain as her lightsaber fell to the ground. Still angered she attempted to use her remaining arm to slash at him once more. This time Everic took control of her arm, raising it above her head, side stepping behind her, positioning the saber across her throat silencing the eerie shrieking Sith. As her body collapsed, a massive bolt of lightning lit the cavern causing Everic to jump out of the way quickly. "I always wondered what it was that drove you to excel the way you have..." Angul said his voice echoing throughout the network. Everic slowly rose to his feet watching Angul atop another level of the structure. Very cautiously, Everic crept over to the dead Sith and removed his vibroknife, turning his gaze towards Angul. The two glared at each other for a few moments, neither of them saying a word. "Where is the Jedi Master?" Everic asked firmly. Angul chuckled lightly, then gestured for Everic to look behind him. His eyes widened and on alert he turned to see a Jedi floating in mid air, his body bloody and his skin cracked from some form of torture. "He would not relent. Thus my hand was forced to acquire the information I needed." Angul hissed. Everic turned back slowly to face him, his eyes growing cold with his icy determination. Angul in his eerie helm jumped down below and stood a few meters away from Everic. Taking a defensive stance once more Everic waited for Angul to make the first move. He heard a large thump behind him, which made Everic's focus waiver, causing him to lose sight of Angul briefly. He then reappeared behind Everic awaiting for him to turn. As he did so, he was launched across the cavern crashing against the hard surface. Angul then charged up a mass of lightning, while Everic was dazed. Trying to shake it off, he saw Angul readying his attack then rolled out of the radius as best he could. Everic felt a pinch of pain rise up in his legs causing him to slow down to a near halt. Teeth clenched, he saw a stream of force lightning within a meter before him. It enveloped his body wracking it with pain. Angul intensified the pressure as he slowly started to walk forward, using only one hand to maintain his lightning while the other snared Everic's feet further. Standing face to face with Everic, he stopped his assault watching his agent fall to the ground. Angul peered down and scoffed lightly. "Your prototype weapon isn't that magnificent...my lord..." Everic said mockingly. Angul began walking around him then chuckled louder. "Everic, even you have the capacity to see beyond the means of that starship. It was no real loss to me, only a tool which served a meager purpose." He explained to him. Everic still locked in pain managed to look up at Angul who had turned to face him. Lifting Everic's paralyzed body off the ground he held him in the air extending his arms and legs. "I know of your wife...and your child Everic...Kirian... will not willingly submit. But your child...she may yet hold much promise." He hissed. Everic struggled to get free but was bound by the power of Darth Angul, who looked on emitting a dark aura. "You disappoint me Everic. I taught you better than this..." He said glumly. Everic felt his body being overcome with pain, as he groaned out. He looked upon Angul with anger, at the mentioning of his wife and daughter. "Y-yes...you did..." He forced out. Angul tilted his head for a moment, then heard a click immediately looking down seeing several grenades laid out at their feet. He pushed Everic away, throwing a static barrier around himself to weather the explosions, while Everic managed to scurry away to the nearest pathway. A shattering blast shook the infrastructure of the cavern, which caused it to start caving in. Still weary and weakened from his fight with Angul, Everic mustered up his reserves and ran as quickly as he could away from the falling debris. Seeing nothing but a cavern corridor still, he was beginning to wonder if he would get out alive. He then heard a voice echo in his mind telling him to veer left, instinctively he did so. After awhile he managed to avoid most of the cave in. He slowed his pace down into a jog, then proceeded towards the nearest exit. Coming out the cave carefully, he saw no opposition, or mass of Imperials waiting for him. He let out a sigh of relief, then gazed back wondering if Angul had survived. "Stay dead...and away from my family..." He thought to himself. "Kirian...I'm coming home..." He said softly running off into the wilderness. A figure watches him run off from atop the cave structure, looming overhead ominously, he clenches his fist overlooking the lush scenery. "I taught you all you know, but not everything...Everic.." Angul said in a dual voice. He then vanished in the bright lighting of the sun.

The Deep Plunge:Operation Black Spice

The planet Hutta, taken over by the Hutt Cartel, molded into a toxic wasteland of villainy and corruption. Such a place is beneficial for remaining anonymous, or otherwise moving without being seen. For Imperial Intelligence agent Everic Martin, discretion was vital on this particular assignment. As he got off the shuttle from the raggedy docking bay, the fumes from the toxic waste plants permeated the air around him. He was a hard and stern young man, yet this stench began to burn his nostrils as he twitched his nose. Desiring to stay no longer than necessary he headed for the palace of one of the most powerful Hutts on the planet, Nemro. As he entered he was immediately eyed down by Nemro's guards, the Gamorrean. He was also looked upon by the vast amount of bounty hunters, smugglers and most of the unsavory types who scuttle together attempting to either lose themselves or find their prey. After a quick scan of how many guards there were in his field of vision, he began counting the exits and potential hazardous materials which he could exploit if need be. He walked deeper into the cantina area of the palace, he saw the entertainment as the band played their robust music, while the twi'lek dancers twirled around in their skimpy outfits. He caught a glimpse of a small hooded figure that seemed to be following him. Not making it obvious that he had caught wind of his pursuer, he led the figure to an enclosed corridor and intersection a few feet away from the main crowded area. The figure lost sight of Everic as he turned the corner ahead, slowing his pace now the figure reached down in the silky robes revealing a worn out blaster. He cautiously proceeded around the corner aiming down the sights of the blaster, no trace of Everic in the cut off corridor. Silently Everic dropped down from the pipe line above his pursuer, landing behind him. He carefully removed his hidden vibroblade which extended with a small shriek, alerting the pursuer who felt the blades edge against the back of the neck. It would have been an easy kill for him, he pressed forward a bit applying pressure to this unknown individual, then cautiously reached around taking the blaster. "Your movements are sloppy, not enough distance between yourself and your quarry." He said to the figure. A soft laughter came from the figure, the voice was feminine as she removed her hood sporting a short cut. She remained still with her back facing him, she emulated an intoxicating aroma, possibly a fragrance of some kind. "Okay I'll admit, I'm no covert operative. But even you surprised me with that one. Next time I'll check the ceiling." She said laughing heartily. She then fiddled around in her robes momentarily, Everic carefully observing allowed her to do so as she handed him a data-pad with a star crossed insignia on it. With a glance he slowly lowered his blade from the back of her neck and took the pad. "Im your point of contact for this op kid. And I am damn impressed so far." She said turning around. "Come on let me buy you a drink handsome." A small grin graced her face as she slipped past him. His eyes carefully watched her, then he followed when she was several paces ahead.

The pair went back to the main area of the cantina, the music still blasting while the patrons still bustling with activity. She took him to a cut off corner table and sat down removing her cloaked robe revealing a skimpy tight outfit. She was a fairly attractive woman, human possibly with implants with which to scan whomever she encountered. She smirked at Everic for a few moments before pulling out a data-pad and placing it on the table carefully sliding it towards him. Still apprehensive about her, Everic slowly extended his hand across the table taking the data-pad, his eyes still trailed on the mysterious woman. He punched in a few codes, then read the information that the data-pad contained. After a few brief moments he peered back towards her, the woman grinning at him toothily. "Aside from your skills, I can see why they chose you for this one. Your easy on the eyes kid." She said to him with a wink. "I'm Tana by the way. Tana Kielter." She finished. He sat up in the bench-like seat in the booth they shared, his creamy blue eyes glistened upon closer inspection. His stature was that of a man constantly on the alert, wary of any and all possible threats to himself. Tana could tell that he was serious about his work, a typical stick in the mud from Imperial Intelligence in her eyes. "My name is Dr. Arden Slate, cybernetics expert, and technical data analyst." He said to her his accent completely changed. She looked on shocked at the sudden change as she smiled shaking her head at his first choice of words to her. "Alright then. You are a rare case indeed kid. I didn't expect you to pick up the information from the data-pad so quickly. Impressed once again." She commented. A waiter then came towards their booth with two drinks, the waiter was a droid, then after looking again a possible protocol droid. Everic had no recollection of them ordering drinks, and given what he knew of Tana so far she may have either ordered for him or someone was watching. He remained silent as the droid left them to their drinks, awaiting Tana's reaction to receiving them. She scratched her head for a second then, flashed a grin, while shaking her head. "That's damn strange. I didn't order for us yet.." She slowly scoffed looking back towards Everic. Within that instant, a flash of red blew directly in front of the pair. Everic immediately taking cover under the table for a moment, caught a glimpse of Tana's now dead body. A blaster bolt seared through her temple, killing her instantly. His eyes grew cold like on so many occasions as he dived from under the table and quickly scurried away while prone. There were several alien mercenaries from the looks of them firing on his last known position. The Gamorrean guards had begun firing at the mercenaries as well, this provided Everic with a small measure of cover to slip away unnoticed. He finally changed his stance huddling over crouching near the center bar installment. He had no weaponry save for his vibroblade which was useless in ranged combat. One of the mercenaries had crept too close towards Everic's position, instinctively he performed a leg sweep on the unsuspecting merc sending him crashing to the hard metallic floor below dazed. Everic then quickly completed incapacitating the merc by striking his jawline with a powerful punch. A few brief seconds he had stripped the merc of all the weaponry he had, which was only a cheaply made Huttese blaster and a few thermal grenades. Everic delved back into his thoughts for a moment remembering where the nearest exit was, which was to the south-east of his current position approximately fifty meters. He also remembered that a few meters beyond the bar there were some volatile compounds that with enough force could weather an explosion. Wasting no further time he peeked over the bar counter scanning how many mercs were in the fire fight. He took notice of more reinforcements pouring in as well. He knelt back down his expression completely focused as he set the timer on the thermal grenade. With a well placed throw, the cantina ignited a small blaze and shockwave sending those nearby sailing though the air, and those even closer to their deaths. Everic quickly rose to his feet sprinting for the exit, a lone merc who weathered the explosion slowly stood but was quickly knocked back down by a moving stock strike by Everic. Some of the mercs out of the explosions distance began firing in Everic's direction, he then knew it was no longer a coincidence, they were after him. He quickly rolled forward attempting to dodge any incoming fire, while effectively activating another thermal grenade. As he recovered from his maneuver the grenade casually rolled back into a small band of mercs who gave chase. Everic nearly around the corner gave them no time to reach his position any further as the grenade exploded within an instant. The shockwave this time affecting him, he slowly rose to his feet this time, that particular exit however had been partially sealed. He coughed for a moment, then tried shaking off the daze he received, he looked around for another brief moment then vanished into the palace depths.

In the Hutta spaceport the gritty world of the planet remained the same. The palace shootout was just one of many that took place here. Gang warfare was common and everyone had a blaster or two just in case. Slipping out unnoticed was easier here, as there wasn't any law or code of ethics with which the power base enforced. The Hutts views were simplistic, more of a know your role and pay homage to them, and above all don't cross them, therefore no one would come looking for him so long as he played his cards right. As he entered the shuttle, it slowly began its ascension off world toward the nearest orbital station. His mind was racing as he couldn't shake the feeling that those mercenaries were gunning for him. The questions he needed answered were who and for what purpose, he knew he was far too careful for anyone to know his true identity as an Imperial agent. It's possible this was another test of his skills and ability to survive under intense situations. All he had to go on was theories and assumptions, the only main thing that concerned him was how this would affect his current assignment. There was the possibility that the mercs had been after Tana as well, although very little was known about her, he felt like she was untrustworthy. Be that as it may, it mattered little now as she laid dead in Nemro's palace, never to be seen or heard from again. The data-pad she had given to him was authentic, and the key code he entered would only access the information if his genetic material matched. His assignment was a delicate one, a deep undercover operation, gathering intelligence on a powerful weapons manufacturing consortium; Duranium Entroplex, acronym, D.E. He was to assume the role of now deceased Arden Slate a remarkable cybernetic and technical analyst, whose research could improve D.E's current development project. As he went over the Intel in his mind he began transforming his mentality into the characteristic persona that *was* Arden Slate. His Imperial accent would be a dead giveaway if anyone had heard it, thus discretion was of the utmost importance. The shuttle had finally arrived at the orbital station hovering over the planet Hutta. Wasting no time, Everic quickly followed the small crowd that had boarded the shuttle with him. His eyes carefully scanning and observing those within his line of sight, checking for anything out of place. He made his way to his personalized hangar. He then gazed upon his ship, a type 70-Phantom edition, it was sleek, efficient, and clean. Fancy with enough firepower to hold its own in a serious scuffle. He entered his ship and locked the air hatch behind him sighing contently. He a took moment to gather himself before proceeding to his holo-terminal contacting his P.O.C. for this operation. Imputing several keys, a message was sent out and within seconds an elder Imperial operative appeared. "Welcome back from Hutta Agent. It would appear you managed to survive the bounty against one, Tana Kielter. Well done." The man said to him. Everic simply nodded to him, as he did not seem to care much for being thrown into such a situation. To him he knew life was a never ending series of unpredictability, in which his ability to adapt would ensure his survival. "I recovered the data-pad of the late Arden Slate. The information contained a fragment of his research, a level 8 encryption. What are my new mission parameters?" He asked professionally. The Imperial Keeper stood in the holo at parade rest, his brow raised at Everic's professional attitude then nodded lightly. "The mission stands. You are to proceed to the planet Ghaina under the alias of Arden Slate and uncover Duranium Entroplex's research development. Confirm whether they are traitors against the Empire. If the threat is immediate you are to destroy the entire facility." He said to Everic sternly. The holo-terminal message ends leaving Everic standing in his ghostly ship. Wasting no further time, he headed for the nearest docking orbital station in range of the planet Ghaina.

Everic found a transport in the orbital station, known as the Grind. It was nick named that due to the harshness and untidy appearance in which the station was maintained. A place for drifters, convicts, and runaways to look for transport other than registered by either Imperial or Republic space. He carefully observed the observation deck as he made his way towards the loading bay of his shuttle. The inhabitants there were of various species, most of them ragged and dirty due to the conditions on board the Grind. The guards there were mercenaries, from one of the Hutt Cartel families. The insignia would tell you which under close observation, yet this group chose to remain anonymous. After half an hour of terrible smelling foods and adrenals, Everic was finally on board his transport shuttle headed for Ghaina. It was cramped inside, many refugees and traitors as well as potential slaves were within the shuttle. He managed to gracefully avoid any of the passengers as he found himself a small hub in a corner. He wore a long dingy grey hooded cloak, yet his hood remained down. He sat with a small slump then let out a low sigh to himself. He leaned back against the grimy metal of the shuttle which was rusted and used. His eyes ever watchful on the passengers in front of him, scanning them, searching for potential threats. A few moments passed and the shuttle was finally off the station. The journey to Ghaina would be a long one, and if luck was present free of any outside complications. Everic went over his Intel silently in his head once more. He had to mold his mentality to become Arden Slate, for many unknown elements of unpredictability awaited him. The risks of his cover not working or being blown before his work began were a high factor. Or if Arden Slate had colleagues who were already within D.E's networks. He was of course assured that Arden was very reclusive and preferred to remain in exile, hiding his face from virtually everyone. There was always a crack, and many things could have slipped through. He sighed once more, to himself then looked at the ceiling of the shuttle. It like the rest of the shuttle was worn out and rusted, the over-usage clearly apparent. He sighed heavily once more then returned his view on the passengers. A few paces away he saw a tiny Bith child staring at him. The bulbous black eyes were fixated on his own. This went on for a few moments, until the Bith child made its way through the half sleeping passengers. Everic watched curiously, he was alerted but the probability this child was a threat was significantly low. He noticed that the Bith child was a female due to the distant complexion and shape of her eyes. Now nearly five meters away from him they stared at one another, silently. "You..are humane?" The little one said in basic speech. Everic's expression remained the same as he listened to the little Bith speak, he gave a small nod. "Me..Saheera.." The Bith said softly to him. Everic remained silent for a moment, looking away then quickly looking back at Saheera. "Do you speak Huttese? Is it better for you to understand?" He said to Saheera. Saheera nodded heavily several times, then spun around a few times as well very happy. "Me have not seen a humane ever. Me parents told me of you peoples. Are you friendlies?" Saheera asked him innocently. Although his face did not show it, surprise was apparent due to the young Bith's interest in him. "My race has many friendly, and not so friendly people. We are all of us different." He said lowly to Saheera. With another heavy nod of approval, Saheera spun around a few times again then stopped before Everic. "Then you are the friendly kind yes? You not mean to Saheera. You nice humane. Me like you." Saheera said to him with a nod. Everic noticed behind Saheera, the parents watching with worry clearly in their eyes. He saw they were afraid of him, possibly if he would harm Saheera. He returned to Saheera and looked back into her black eyes which glistened in the dim shuttle. "You must be careful Saheera. Not all humans are nice and friendly. You cannot just walk up and ask them whenever you wish. Some of them are cruel, and violent. They would hurt you if you stumbled across the bad ones." He said sternly to her. "That is my advice to you. Use it well. And that does not apply strictly to humans. You have to be smart if you wish to survive in this galaxy." He said gesturing Saheera to turn around. Looking back Saheera noticed her parents beckoning her over to them worriedly. She then turned back to Everic and nodded heavily as she displayed before to him. "Me glad you nice one. Me smell you aura. It is nice. That why me come to say hi. Bye bye humane." She said waving with her back facing him. He watched her make her way back to her parents who awaited, both of them extending their arms. They muttered something to her but what was said was out of earshot now. Everic looked on for a few moments then drifted back into deep thought.

Several hours passed by, the trip was a long one as Everic knew it would be. He remained awake the entire duration, until at long last he had reached his destination. Exiting the rusty shuttle through the remnants of the passengers young Saheera waved goodbye to him. He blinked a few times then a small smirk emerged at the corner of his lips before walking off. He then proceeded to the main intersection of the orbital station hovering over the planet Ghaina. Everic made his way to the nearest planetary transport. The trip down through the planets atmosphere was a fairly smooth one. This transport shuttle was a significant difference compared to the shuttle which he traveled here in. The people of Ghaina took care to maintain their equipment from brief observation. Within another few moments he landed in the spaceport and exited with the small diplomats and technicians whom boarded the shuttle with him. The security was air tight here. Heavily modified assault Battle-master droids outfitted with dual cannons and guided missiles. Cameras that had x-ray scanning and identification capabilities, along with audio feedback down to the smallest whisper. The Ghainian guards clearly equipped with the best of the planets wares, patrolled the port professionally and efficiently. They had tact and discipline, not lowly security guards, possibly special forces trained for warfare. Everic made it past all of these measures unscathed, heading for the exit of the port. Once outside he found a small security detail awaiting him. "Mr. Slate I presume? Arden Slate? I am Chief Officer Hal Genren of Duranium Entroplex's Security division." He said to him in a low yet powerful voice. Everic stood before him and smiled awkwardly, having gone over Arden's personality profile numerous times it was now time to go into character. "I prefer the term Doctor. If you don't mind sir. People of all species seem to leave that part out. It's crucial I tell you!" He stammered a bit. Officer Genren was a fairly large man in stature, his frame was around six foot two, a human cyborg at first glance and was seen subtly scanning over Everic carefully. The two guards with him wore the standard issue military gear for the planet's army, their rifles were carbine powered with no stun setting. "Your records don't indicate you are an actual doctor, therefore Mr. Slate will do just fine. I'll need your newly appointed verification code to identify that you are in fact Mr. Arden Slate." He said pulling out a data-pad handing it to the guard behind him. "Now then please recite the first two encryption settings on the D.E. verification network." He said to Everic his expression serious. Everic played the part of a bumbling fool due to the personality on file for Arden Slate, he dropped his suitcase yelping as the contents of paper and data pads fell to the ground. Officer Genren clearly annoyed already ordered one of his guards to help him gather his things. In the midst of this clamoring Everic scooped up a uniquely small device which he slipped into the wrist of the jacket he was wearing. "Oh wow. Dear I am so sorry about that. You fellas sure are intimidating let me tell ya! Ok lets see here. Hmm. Ah. My levels of encryption are Canyon and Sigma-Alpha." He said with a grin. Officer Genren peered back to his guard with the data-pad who simply returned a look not saying a word to him. Genren gazed back at Everic, with an even more emotionless face then shook his head once. "It would seem we have a problem Mr. Slate. Either your encryption was entered wrongly, or you're not the real Arden Slate." He said slowly approaching Everic. Everic whimpered back trying to sway off the encroaching guards. "Now wait a minute here! Are you sure your system is up to date with the network software I provided?? Maybe I'm not in the system yet! C-check again!" He stammered worriedly. Genren not listening as he approached, was stopped by an activation beeping from the data-pad. He peered back to the guard with the pad who gave him a light nod, then he turned his attention back on Everic. "Mr. Slate you'll have to forgive me. Security is my forte and there are many spies and treacherous characters attempting to infiltrate our thriving corporation. As you were informed we have some of the best minds in the galaxy inside of our network, developing things beyond any other planets expectations." He said to him bowing his head lightly. Everic straightened himself up a bit, then leaned down to pick up his suitcase with a nod to Genren. "Well you certainly do your job well sir." He said in a annoying manner. With no further words to exchange they took Everic to the main complex of the massive organization.

The exterior of Duranium Entroplex was compiled of a unique alloy that Everic couldn't identify. It was a blueish silver color, upon close observation. It also appeared to be heavily fortified considering it was a research development facility. The complex was derived of three large buildings each with two powerful Ion cannons on the roof to disable any enemy air support. On the ground below, massive battle droids guarded the entrances to each of the three buildings. Everic's only conclusion on their design was that they were a possible prototype not yet released by D.E. A few hundred meters away, a small group of what appeared to be researchers were standing in front of the largest central building. His escort was seemingly taking him towards the group. An elder man stopped talking to the others as he spotted Everic and alerted them to his approach as they all soon turned to face him. Officer Genren stood only ten meters away from the eldest man then gave him a salute. "Sir. May I present Mr. Arden Slate. The young researcher whose methods on cybernetics and technical readouts that have led to groundbreaking results." He said stepping to the side. Everic playing his role well clutched his suitcase tightly to his chest as he slowly approached them. "At last. Welcome Doctor. I am Professor Willard Herric Osiris, the head researcher and C.E.O. of the developments team and sector." He said to Everic extending his hand. Nervously he shook it peering around aimlessly. "Come Doctor. We can exchange pleasantries once you are more settled. I would like to show you around." Willard said to him. Giving the security detail a look along with the group who had been waiting with him, he took Everic alone inside the central building. The interior was much like the same inside as it was outside. The main difference was the amount of massive battle droids were decreased, replaced with much smaller and possibly agile ones. They went past two large security check points, both of them having to place their contents in the care of the guards. "Our security as you can see, is extensive Doctor. Many spies have tried to slip through our midst and acquire the work we do here for whatever end." He said as they walked through the bug detector. "All of them which have been thwarted thanks to the brilliant minds under our employ. And with your own brilliance, we shall achieve an even higher standard." He said grinning as they continued the tour. Willard was a fairly small man, his stature was one of a collected wisdom. His frame was thin and fit at first glance, standing no taller than five foot nine at the most. He had a neatly trimmed low cut of greyish white hair, and his sideburns connected to the beard on his face. Everic knew who he was before hand, the man who practically built D.E.'s  planetary defenses. As they continued the tour each floor of the central building began to take on a level of repetition. It was as if this was only the front for potential marks. After traveling for about ten minutes, Willard took him to his presidential office on the fifty-eighth floor. The office was fairly large, and as Everic entered he immediately began to scan for anything worthy of note. Nothing out of the ordinary caught his eye at the moment. Willard offered him a seat as they sat down together, the old man letting out a sigh with a humble grin on his face. "I must admit Doctor given your track record and paranoia I'm surprised you came out of the shadows to join us." He said to Everic casually. After hearing those words he knew how suspicious it looked for a paranoid genius shut in to suddenly change his whole persona and go public. He smirked nervously listening to Willard further. "Your research on the quantum physics engineering of weapons propulsion as well as adaptable cybernetic implants were truly remarkable." He said sharply. Everic sat upright a little on edge following his profile to the latter. "My reasons Professor, for going against my..my code if you will are entirely selfish. My current research project demands a facility capable of handling extreme levels of toxicity. So for the sake of my research my hand was forced." He said with a jittery pout. Willard chuckled to himself at Everic's response to his question. He shook his head then let out a low sigh once more. Everic glanced down without diverting his attention at Willard, he caught a glimpse of a picture of a young woman, possibly Willard's daughter Nyada. Within that instant his personal comm was buzzing. Willard looked down at the message which was coded in text, not holo projection then smiled. "It would appear I am needed elsewhere at the moment. No wait. On second thought why don't you follow me." He said to Everic standing up heading towards the door. They proceeded to the elevator through the seemingly streams of employees. Once inside Willard took out a keycard, swiping it on the access panel then imputing a series of codes. The elevator then whizzed and whirled for a few moments then it seemed to move horizontally to the left side. A few seconds later an entirely new area was revealed before Everic's eyes. This new interior still had that unique alloy but was much sleeker from the appearance of the texture. Another few paces in a young woman was barking orders at several men. Willard escorted Everic towards the young woman then stopped clearing his throat. Hearing him, she shooed the men away and turned brandishing a very beautiful face. She smiled warmly at Willard then ran softly towards him happily. "Daddy! You got my message after all! What a shock considering your schedule. Or perhaps you have some news for me? That could be another reason you came all this way to see me." She said teasingly, yet sounded quite serious. Willard chuckled to himself then extended his arm presenting Everic to her. "Of course I came to see you, AND introduce Doctor Arden Slate the remarkable researcher who should further our work tenfold according to his findings." He said proudly. Nyada looked him over, surprised he was so attractive, immediately smiling at him seductively. Everic managed a weak smile, yet it was his eyes that hinted his superior nature. That moment seemed to slow down as they said nothing to each other. At long last she extended her hand and with a toothy grin shook his. "I have heard of you. Your work is very peculiar. It borderlines the impossible." She said smiling further. Everic held her hand for a moment, his cold blue eyes fixated on captivating her further. "Miss Osiris, my work may be strange to others but my results cannot be denied. With due respect of course." He smirked back at her. Willard laughed heartily this time, it could be heard echoing a bit into the hall they stood in. Nyada smiled at Everic, clearly interested, his looks had served him well thus far and she would soon be his access to the restricted information he was searching for.

A week went by as Everic played the role of Arden Slate. He was now into a routine, vexing and wowing all those around him. His own intellect serving him well, he was a genius in certain situations, via the field or combat. This was considered the field, and his mind never stopped plotting and scheming out various scenarios. After much debate with her father during the week prior to meeting Everic, Nyada begged her father to transfer him to research and development to help with her project. Reluctantly he agreed not wanting to deny his little girl the things she wanted, his own project still slowly trekking along. Yet he knew with his new genius under his employ, once he got working the results would make up the difference in time. Everic was fairly in deep yet not where he needed to be, he needed to push further to reach his goal. He and Nyada were working on a project to help accelerate the growth of vegetation on Ghaina without contaminating the wildlife, as previous doses caused severe decomposition. "You're doing quite well here Arden. Much better considering all the talk of the paranoid shut in I heard so much about." She said teasing him as they worked. Everic snickered to himself at her comment, trying to make himself appear interested in her. "Well, personally I'd rather work in my own lab but with all the levels of security, being a level-7 genius with specializations in cybernetics as well as virtually anything with a microchip could make some folk worry." He said giggling a bit. Nyada loved his giggle and laughed with him briefly. "I see. So you're out here trying to prove your worth until my father hands you the keys to the equipment you need. Is that about right?" She said watching him solve an equation. Everic stammered over almost dropping his pen, then turned to her his expression one of surprise and smiled looking down. "Oh wow. Umm. Did he tell you that? Geez, I didn't think he woulda mentioned it to anyone." He said flustered. Nyada smiled once more, watching him so unnerved, the attraction she had towards him completely apparent. She placed her right hand on his left, causing him to look at it, then face her. "You know, I usually dominate wimpy bookish types like you. But there's something about you.. Sure you're still wimpy, but it's different." She said with her face blushing. Everic looked on at her, his eyes still focused on her own. She continued watching him, then lunged forward kissing him fiercely. Their tongues became intertwined, their lips smacking together, soft moans and groans could be heard between them. Nyada then began quickly removing his lab jacket then shirt revealing his impressively well toned body. "Ohh my...you're very built for a bookish type. What a body.." She said reaching down towards his pants unbuckling them. She was in complete control, he knew that's how she liked things, in her control, by her hands. It was her way or not at all, and she took what she wanted every time. Everic or in this case Arden Slate, was no different. Still a man and susceptible to arousal, she knew he was ready for her as she groped the large bulge in his now unbuckled pants. "Mmpph. I seem to have found your secret...and what a BIG secret it is. I'm really going to enjoy this." She groaned swallowing his lips with her own. The lab completely to themselves they stayed there the entire night in each others passionate embrace. This went on between them for several weeks, yet it wasn't exactly as Nyada had made it out to be. Everic saw that she was developing feelings for him. He treated her with great respect and fulfilled all of her desires. They had many things in common, and could hold a conversation worthy of their intellectual minds. Willard also approved as he found Everic to be an amazing researcher and scientist despite his unusual quirks. Nyada, who was addicted to dominating and humiliating the men she was involved with was now somewhat tamed only interested in him. Her love for him growing every moment they shared together. He knew he was closer than ever now to obtaining the information he required. After a night of passionate love making with Nyada, Everic found himself in her personal suite and home. Confident she was sound asleep, he got up out of bed stealthily proceeding towards her computer terminal. He managed to bring with him an improvised device he crafted capable of muffling nearby sounds as he activated her terminal. The noise could not be heard as he quickly broke through her encryption files and layers. As he learned of D.E. and their security measures, he knew that there was a brief window which would alert the mainframe interface of the super computer upon intrusion or bypassing of encrypted files without authorization. Each time he broke through a layer, he would quickly replace it with another one, his way of outwitting the system. Acting on a leap of faith with this method, it paid off as he found notes of the project that Willard had wanted his particular help with. The code name on the file was blanked out, as well as a firewall which had alerted him that even Nyada didn't have clearance for that level of the project. Realizing he would have to dig deeper he quickly restores all the encryption's he broke then closed down her terminal heading back towards her bedroom. As he walked in he saw she was still fast asleep. He watched her for a moment then let out a sigh, his own feelings becoming more involved now. Despite her flaws she was a decent person, a spoiled child all her life with no hint of the struggles of the galaxy, yet she had a good heart. He then heard a strange clicking in the room somewhere then quickly knelt down retrieving his miniature improvised vibroblade from his nearby bag. It was coming from the living room as he crept forward silently. The noise became a bit louder as he entered, then he waited quietly trying to pinpoint its location. He peered toward the balcony, then headed toward it. His eyes widened at the noise, his heart was still and steady. He could only think that he had been found out possibly, yet if so why did they not storm his position he wondered. Carefully he opened the door, as the cool brisk dawn air kissed on his half nude body. He saw nothing as he looked outside, scanning as carefully as he could. The noise as well seemingly abated. He backed slowly to close the door again then the noise resumed. He quickly ran out on the balcony then peered over the edge. He saw a strange probe droid, much smaller and sleeker than it's counterparts. The droid slowly hovered toward his position and handed him a data pad. On the data-pad was an insignia, a star crossed insignia, which Everic knew could only mean one thing; new mission parameters.

The day after was a long one. It was slow, and all those around Everic were like slugs baking in a humid sun. The new mission parameters had gotten to him, and he hadn't even opened them yet. He went over his entry into D.E.'s infrastructure numerous times, there was no possible way other than a leak that could have compromised his position. The only person who knew of his mission was dead before it even began. The only logical thought that came to mind was that his superiors discovered some new Intel, thus changing the current objective into something else entirely. For the moment he had to go on wild speculation due to the eyes and ears and security measures around him. He needed to find a secure and secluded place to extract the information from the data pad. He continued working with Nyada in her lab, her team was hard pressed for time as the board were expecting results. She huffed and puffed for most of the afternoon, their methods not working only increased her frustration. "Damn it all! Another failure." She sighed placing a hand across her brow. Everic watched her for a moment, then continued writing something down onto a data pad trying to hide it from Nyada. As if she knew he were hiding something, she smirked and walked silently behind him gaining the jump on him. He shook as she spooked him, then she burst into laughter kissing his cheek tenderly. "Ohh you are so jittery today! Thank you for making me smile though!" She said with her infamous toothy grin. He shook his head with a smirk at her, then finished what he was writing. Nyada hovering over his shoulder began to take notice and watched quietly for a moment. "What is that?" She asked curiously interested. Everic smiled without looking back at her, flattening the data pad then placing it into a micro terminal which enlarged his equation. "That my dear is an algorithm that will ensure your project succeeds. I crossed referenced the data your team managed to file and saw a loop that may be just the edge you need." He said smirking at his work. Reading the algorithm, Nyada stood up then spun Everic around in his chair kissing him deeply. "You are such a genius! Ohh! I'll never forget this! I love you!" She giggled happily. Everic smiled as she and the rest of the team began celebrating a bit and preparing to follow the algorithm's instruction. In his heart and mind, he felt for the first time a sickening for his line of work. It was only for a brief instant, then quickly it slipped away like silky hair through fingers. The day nearly at its end, Everic went back to his own personal loft-like room given to him by D.E. , which was very luxurious. Nyada who pouted to him before their parting, was making preparations for her presentations to the board now that her project was in the final stages. Everic walked into the living room, and sat down on the couch. He knew there were micro cameras and listening devices inside of his room. Opening the data pad here would be a dead giveaway. He could only think of one place where he could go to have the privacy necessary to read the data pad safely; Nyada's Vineyard. The Vineyard was near the outskirts behind the three buildings, the guards and droids had no reason to patrol that area. And if should anyone try to approach from that direction, the massive wall would prevent entry other than air ship or shuttle which would be shot down. His mind made up, he decided to head there later at night when things were less active. There was no need for stealth as he would end up with Nyada who in turn would vouch for his whereabouts after they spent most of the night together. While he proceeded down towards the entrance, Officer Genren appeared before him. "Good evening Mr. Slate." He said in a monotone voice. Genren had a menacing look on his face tonight, more so than usual as he made Everic ready to defend himself if need be. "Goodness! Officer Genren! Y-you startled me!" He chuckled the words out. Not one for jokes, Genren only observed him silently like a statue. "Is this a social call? Or perhaps work related?" He asked Genren casually. Still eerily watching Everic he said nothing for several moments. "Just making sure everything is in order Mr. Slate. I never see you down here this time of night. You are usually with Miss Osiris." He said his cybernetics affecting his vocal cords. Everic carefully walked past him with a nervous smile, determined to play his part till the last. "Well Nyada has some business she has to handle. Then we shall get dinner and watch a movie. Or something along those lines. Oh look at the time! I'll be going now." He said to Genren scurrying off. Genren saying nothing more slowly marched forward continuing his patrol. Within another five hundred meters or so, Everic found himself walking in a small blade of grass. Still wanting to put some distance between himself and the city he pushed a bit further out. Another few hundred meters away he saw Nyada's vineyard and stopped. He couldn't shake the feeling that there may have been cameras inside as well. Quickly scanning around him, he checked for anything out of the ordinary then knelt down in the grass and took out the data pad. The data pad only unlocking after receiving his genetic material, clicked open. Inside the pad were his new mission parameters. {It read}-*Agent Martin, Intelligence has discovered that Duranium Entroplex has been developing a new prototype weapon, an addictive adrenal that can go viral upon use altering ones mind and allegiance, the side effects are catastrophic, in short leading to death.  They have dubbed it Black Spice, and they plan on selling it to the highest bidder, our enemies. You must destroy the entire complex and any trace of Black Spice you find within. Execute extreme prejudice against all personnel should they attempt to hinder you. They stand against the Empire agent and their weaponry has aided the Republic to slaughter our citizens. They cannot be allowed to mass produce this Spice and sell it to the highest bidder. Eliminate the threat.* His face now twisted at the sudden change of objectives, he stands gathering himself knowing what must be done.

The sun rose on a new day, bright and gleaming into the window of Nyada's suite. Everic peered down and watched as she slept peacefully on his chest. He knew that today would be the day that the world she knew would be torn apart, by none other than him. He sighed lowly trying not to wake her, yet she moved around groaning comfortably in his arms. "Mmmmm. Good morning. You really were something last night." She giggled starting to wake up. Everic wide awake looked down at her intently, her eyes were still closed. He brushed her long dirty blonde hair gently with his hand then sighed out once more. "I just had a ridiculously wonderful thought." He said out loud to her. Nyada smiled with her eyes still closed, the position she was in was very comfortable and she had no desire to move. "Mmm. I love your wonderful ideas. Tell me." She purred to him. Everic looked at her face once more and sighed deeply which caused her to finally open her eyes meeting his gaze. "We both have been working hard. I'd like to take some time off with you. I've always wanted to see Alderaan. I hear the planet scape is breath taking. We can leave in a few hours." He smiled at her. Nyada grinned happily at the thought of being away from all of their work, enjoying each other's pleasure. "What about the presentation to the board? I can't just reschedule that with them. It took ages to get the project finally underway!" She giggled at him. He smiled back, leaning in for a kiss to which she returned reluctantly. "I'll take care of the presentation for you. You can go ahead of me while I finalize the dealings and brief them on the final phases of the project." He said excited by the idea of their going on vacation. She placed her hands over her mouth embarrassed that he kissed her with her morning breath. "Hmmm. Alright, I'll do it. But only because you're a better presenter than I am. And you better make it up to me on Alderaan." She purred seductively at him once more. Happy that she had agreed, Everic leaned in further and they resumed their tender kissing. Within the next few hours, he had taken Nyada to the spaceport to see her off the planet safely. She kissed him hungrily, wishing that they would travel together but knowing how important the deal was to their work. Thinking nothing more of his insistent behavior on the matter she did as he asked and headed for Alderaan. He watched her fly away from the spaceport, his face grim and his eyes glowing cold with that unnerving determination. He turned around and headed back towards D.E. to complete his objective. Before the large infrastructure of the main buildings, Everic deviated from his current path heading towards the lush grasslands. He walked for several hundred meters then came across Nyada's vineyard. The night prior he had went back and did a thorough scan for any cameras or listening devices. Having found a fairly safe sanctuary, he managed to smuggle some equipment he would need to complete his mission after receiving the new parameters. A versatile and advanced nano-skeletal sneaking suit, outfitted to his own genetic signature along with a helm to hide his face. It acted as a second skin, and allowed for quick movement and enhanced strength and dexterity. His cloaking device was also increased while using this armor. His arms were consisted of a modified assault blaster, with an enhanced scope and sniper settings, along with a vibroblade made of Terenthium. He also had his usual assortment of fragmentation grenades as well as flash grenades. Completely suited up now, he unlocked a chest which housed a strange glass-like case, inside its contents were barely visible. He looked on the inside of the case for a mere moment before stowing it away in his portable nap sack. Having everything he needed, he proceeded towards Duranium Entroplex's central hub awaiting the cover of night. The security was air tight like always. No way to infiltrate without being detected so the next logical step was to make sure you were detected, in more than one place. Everic, hidden in the shadows near the eastern building of the central hub, took out his universal wrist comm and imputed several keys quickly. Within seconds of this, motion sensors around a five mile radius were triggered causing a massive alarm. Knowing however that this wouldn't be enough, he hacked into a prototype assault droid programming it to reach the Armstech wing which was housed with heavy explosives. The droid was immediately effective as it began wrecking havoc on the secuirty personnel and other droids who hadn't yet deemed it a threat. Everic then overheard some comm chat from the guard tower, his diversion with the droid created an opening for him to slip inside unseen. Several assault teams were headed to the Armstech wing to stop the droid. Many researchers and guards were running amok outside, making it easy for him to enter the eastern building unnoticed. The red lights and siren alarms were all too familiar to him as he proceeded to the lower levels of the buildings reactor core. All three had one, which if ruptured would cause a cataclysmic explosion wiping out the city entirely. Everic knowing that detonating one, would be enough to trigger the others, quickly ran down the maintenance shaft. As he crashed through a bulk head door, his entry was noticed by three flustered guards who had little time to react. In a flash Everic rolled forward extending his vibroblade slashing horizontally across the torso of the first unaware guard. Then in a few hurried steps he diverted the blaster rifle of the next guard downward causing him to shoot himself in the foot. Everic aimed for the jugular in his throat, causing him to gurgle on his own blood slowly sinking to his knees. The last guard began firing wildly, praying for a hit as his aim cut down what was left of his colleagues. Hitting several pipes in the process, steam was now filling the air decreasing the guards visibility. Frightened now more than before he fires blindly screaming at the top of his lungs, the steam muffling his cries. Everic watches the aimless guard from the shadows bangs against the pipe causing the guard to turn in his direction. The guard wails firing once more, yet while he watches ahead of him he notices a twirling thin object heading for him. With a shink, the vibroblade connects with the guards forehead subduing him indefinitely. Wasting no further time, Everic races off, his current goal within reach. Coming to the door of the reactor, he opens it already knowing the password to unlock the force field. The cool humming of the reactor hard at work, could be heard as he entered. He removed the glass-like case from earlier, then took several steps back towards the door and opened it. A strange shroud of what appeared to be insects emerged and converted into a mist-like cloud being sucked into the reactor. Before this was done, Everic was long gone onto his next objective. Not using the same entry point, he managed to work his way to the service tunnel which would lead him to the central hub. He knew the board were being moved into their state of the art panic room which made them easy targets for later. There was one target he knew wouldn't be present within the panic room however; Willard Herric Osiris.

Duranium Entroplex was in a state of confusion and chaos. Everic's reprogrammed droid was still on the loose triggering explosions and killing numerous guards as well droids. He needed to find Willard. He would have the access codes needed to extract the information from central hubs computer data banks. Everic moved through the central hub quickly and efficiently, the lobby looking like a warzone. He then heard a beep on his universal comm as the prototype droid was about to be destroyed. Taking this time to kneel down in a cut off corner, he quickly imputed several more keys in a sequence for over a minute's time. He had managed to hack the new line of prototype Infantry assault droids. These were much slicker and had much more finesse and maneuverability, and were man-sized. The core of the prototype droid would trigger an implosion that Everic had planted inside it himself, upon destruction. Waiting for the implosion, he sat in stealth listening in on the guard comm channel marking their positions and whereabouts. In another moment the implosion shook the building and the screams of the guards could be heard then silenced. Everic sprinted off towards the elevator, using a thermal detonator blowing a hole in the doors. Some guards on in lobby had seen him do this as they began firing in his direction. He leap in the makeshift doorway, while lobbing a flash grenade behind him blinding his pursuers. Gripping onto the nearby edge of the elevator shaft he looked up and down for it. Finding it below him, he jumped down knowing that the blindness would soon wear off. As he fell rapidly, he smashed onto the top of the elevator with a large crash rattling the guards inside. Looking up he heard the commotion from the guards ready to storm the elevator with overlapping fields of fire, and as well as the assault which was massing beneath his feet. Realizing he was in a situation, he saw his chance for escape with the next door above him. Quickly tossing another grenade high in the air, the explosion blew open the doors allowing him to escape through them. The guards aimlessly shooting from the elevator while the guards near the lobby doors did the same. He was now on floor B-2 of the central hub. Nowhere near his destination, his presence also known, Everic found himself pressed for time. Willard had a window to escape if he felt threatened enough, however Everic was aware of the level of confidence he had in his security. Sprinting down the hallway now, Everic quickly subdued another unwary guard with a flying boot to the face. As he turned the corner, he came face to face with a security block of over twenty guards blaster rifles at the ready. "DON'T MOVE!!!! STAY WHERE YOU ARE!!" The Captain shouted. Everic halted in his tracks, he watched the detail carefully, many of them were shook up but they seemed to be getting more organized now. The element of surprise no longer on his side, Everic slowly lowered his arms placing them past his abdomen crossing them, while grasping his wrist. The Captain watched on nervous, that Everic was up to something. Time seemed to slow as Everic watched the firing squad ready to hail down bolts in his direction. While he glared through his helm, he twisted a band along his wrist activating one of his diversions. Within that instant the ceiling above blasted down, the alloy crumbling many of the guards. Everic quickly jumping out of the way avoiding the fire of those remaining. The Infantry assault droids had blew threw several layers of the impressive alloy during their confrontation with D.E.'s forces. Everic used this time to leave the area. He then managed to find a small office, which had a computer terminal in it. Making haste he logged on and began running a search for Willard's location within the central hub. Running several diagnostic scans simultaneously, he found him attempting to flee in the base structure of the building two floors down. Everic dashed for the door realizing Willard could make an escape, something that he would not let happen. In all of the chaos, much of the building was on fire. The air coolant system trying to maintain the blaze with the sprinklers. Running through the hall of level B-4 now, Everic was halted by a large bulkhead door. He knew it would take time to bypass this, time which he didn't have. As he looked around for another way in, he saw a key swipe while scoffing, then scarcely hearing a whirling from what sounded like a vibrosword, he quickly rolled out of the way turning to face this new threat. Before him stood Chief Officer Hal Genren. He looked on with his fully cybernetic eyes trying to detect who he was. "You'll never get through this door in time. I'm positive you can get through, just not in time before the Professor escapes." He said lowly to Everic. The two circled each other, Everic realizing this showdown was inevitable, as he brandished his vibroblade. "Show me your face. I have an idea of who you are. Yet I desire confirmation. If you grant me that I shall give you this, if you can defeat me." He said to Everic waving a key card before him. Reluctant to do as his enemy wished, yet pressed for time Everic placed a fingertip on the back of his neck as the helm unfolded sleekly into his suit. Genren garnished a satisfied grin, as his assumption was correct. "I knew there was something not quite right with you. Hmm. No matter. I have been dying of a challenge. Hopefully you can deliver saboteur." He said charging forward. Everic well aware that Genren had unnatural cybernetic strength, he gracefully sidestepped his charge, their blades sparking due to the force of the blow. Everic then spun around quickly delivering a roundhouse kick to his head, shattering one of his eye sockets. Genren stood still for a moment as a fluid leaked onto the ground below. He slowly turned towards Everic growling angrily then roared as he charged again. In a series of flashy sword play, Genren went on the offensive while Everic remained defensive, trying to avoid his superior strength. He knew that one wrong move would end it all for him. So he had to watch his movements carefully and look for an opening. Genren then launched into the air slamming the ground with a thunder. Everic jumped to avoid the blow making his way behind him, then hastily countered plunging his vibroblade in Genren's upper back. The giant grunted in pain as the blade pierced through to his chest, his mouth leaking both blood and fluid. He then grabbed the vibroblade and slowly pulled it through until it was out, a large hole could be seen where he had been stabbed. Everic watched on yet kept his composure, in a way he wasn't surprised at all as Genren began to regenerate. The hole slowly closed up, while Genren stood facing his opponent. "You have some bite to go with that bark of yours. I am pleased, but it will take more than that to overcome me." He said cackling now. After a brief second of laughter Genren kicked the vibroblade towards Everic, while charging immediately. In the instant it took Everic to catch it, Genren was face to face with him. He gave Everic a powerful knee to the abdomen causing him to cough. Then he delivered a powerful haymaker across his face sending him flying crashing against the bulkhead door. The wind nearly knocked out of him now, he rolled evasively away from Genren who now was determined to deliver the final blow. Genren once again launching in the air to slam on top of Everic, he missed his attack and was impaled once again. He made a face at Everic who slowly stepped away, his vibroblade stuck in his body once more. "I told you. You'll need more than this to overcome me." He smiled tugging on the blade once more. Everic then showed Genren a small detonator. "Will this suffice?" He said with his finger on the button. Genren's eyes widened as he tried to charge again, but within that instant his body was blown to pieces. Everic let out a sigh then ran over to Genren's remains until he found the key card, fortunately still intact. He swiped the card then awaited as the bulkhead door slowly opened. His final target now within his grasp.

The area beyond the bulkhead door was a shuttle bay for a transport. Within Everic spotted Willard already boarding his personal transport. Immediately sprinting after it, the shuttle began taking off as Willard looked below watching Everic. He then lost sight of Everic underneath the transport then yelled at the pilot to get them out of there. Now high in the air, the transport began its journey towards its destination. Willard held onto a suitcase gripping it tightly, his face twisted in frustration at what just happened to his life's work. A clanging sound was heard outside, which alerted Willard and the pilot. Neither of them saying anything, Willard looked on at the pilot gesturing to hand him the blaster pistol. He then proceeded to the rear of the transport carefully scanning the area, especially the shadows. He opened the hatch door of the transport, the wind loudly breezing inside as the pilot glanced back at Willard. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" He yelled with his voice muffled. Willard satisfied with his inspection, finally closed the door then headed for the passenger's seat next to the pilot. "I was just checking to see if that assassin had managed to get onboard." He said to the pilot. Then a low hum was heard behind him as Everic broke out of stealth holding his blaster pistol at the pair. He reached over and took Willards pistol, then destroyed the power cell. "Hello Professor." He said to Willard his helm masking his voice as well. Willard looked at him, fear in his eyes that he had at last met his end.  "W-what do you want?" He stammered. Everic then gestured to the pilot for a moment. "Increase the speed please." He said to him calmly. Then he returned his attention back to Willard, tapping his blaster on his case. "I assume that is the data regarding Black Spice? I'm afraid I'll be taking that now." He said yanking it away from Willard. His eyes widened with anger he tried to take the case back but was easily repelled by Everic who shoved him back in his seat, which made him behave. "How did you manage to so easily penetrate my defenses? It was you who managed to hack into my prototypes was it not? Even if you were sent here there is no way you would have been able to do so without an inside man!" He snarled at him. Everic sighed through his helm at Willard then took a step towards him. "You're right professor. Your security and defenses were amazingly advanced. Not something that could be bypassed with simple surveillance. We got to one of your high ranking people and convinced him to help us." He said casually. Willard turned frantic at his words. "Who?! Who was it?" He asked quickly. Everic extended his index finger before Willard as if gesturing him to be silent, as he guided his finger to the back of his neck. His helm began to fold back under his suit, all the while Willard looked on completely shocked. "Arden?! T-thats just not possible!" He shouted. Everic shook his head at him then stood holding on to the handle above. "Arden Slate as you are well aware was a paranoid shut in and hermit. He never left the safety of his home or his work. He even wore protective gear as he was fearful of assassination. He hid his face from everyone he knew. It was a simple matter of killing him and taking his place. Power hungry corporations like your own were after his brilliant research thus when I pitched the idea that I wished to join yours. You didn't refuse." He explained to Willard. His mouth partially opened as he heard this all in disbelief, he sat defeated. "But I saw your work while you were there! The equations you figured out! The algorithm you handed to Nyada! Your work made us more efficient!" He shouted trying to understand. Everic peered down at him for a brief moment. "In my line of work, you become who you need to be. Perhaps I am just that good or perhaps I got lucky. Regardless of what you may not want to believe, this is the result." He continued. Willard then peered up at Everic as if he remembered something. "Ohh no. Nyada. What did you do to Nyada? Please don't tell me you harmed my little girl!" He looked on fighting back his tears at the thought. Everic saying nothing looked back with his cold gaze. "She is no longer among us I'm afraid." He said to him. Willard then placed his hands on his head and bawled softly. "Noo. Not her please. She is innocent. She did nothing wrong." He said to himself. Everic watched on as Willard wept believing his daughter was dead. "You..you played your part well then. None of us suspected you were a spy. Not even in the beginning to be honest. We are just cautious by nature. But if you know how far this goes, then you should be aware that I am not the only board member with access to Black Spice's files and development." He said angrily. Everic nodded at him keeping his eyes ahead now. "You mean the other board members who evacuated to the panic room? They won't be a problem any longer." He said calmly. An explosion was then heard, as the reactor core blew causing a domino-like effect which ruptured the other cores. As if he had timed it perfectly, Willard looked on at the cold stranger he saw before him. Knowing that he was the only person living with any knowledge of their wonder drug, his life at the mercy of this shadow operative. Everic gestured to the pilot to land in the area beneath them. Following his instruction, he landed while Willard said nothing more. Everic then knocked the pilot unconscious, and then peered towards Willard dragging him outside. He shoved him to the ground roughly and watched him grovel in the dirt. "Is this to be my end? Why? WHY DO YOU HAVE TO KILL ME?!" He shouted at Everic. With no more words to exchange with him, Everic raised his pistol in front of Willard. "You have slaughtered countless with your experimental wonder drug Professor. Your test subjects. Think back to the formula phase of development. Hundreds of thousands died for your Black Spice. Not to mention, you have been using the funding of the Empire while dealing with the Republic as well. Your time has come." He said coldly. Willard stammered once again, his expression that of terror. Not wishing to see it, he closed his eyes awaiting his judgement. "T-they were only aliens!" He shouted with his eyes closed. Those words would be the last he ever spoke.

Everic sighing headed back to the transport. The pilot still unconscious had seen his face. He posed a great threat to his anonymity, if he could identify him. It was in that moment, he had decided to test out a memory eraser serum which he had derived from some of the research involving the Black Spice development. He injected the pilot then woke him, leaving his helm off to test his serum. The pilot disoriented, looked at him confused and had no recollection of what happened nor who he was. Satisfied after scanning his vitals, Everic let him go and took the transport to the destination indicated on the map terminal. He found the Professors getaway ship for emergencies and thought it best to use that instead of heading toward the space port which would be on high alert. He then thought of Nyada while sitting in the cockpit. He let out a sigh then nodded confident he had taken all the necessary steps he needed with her. He plotted in a course for an Imperial orbital station then flew off into space. Meanwhile on the planet of Alderaan, Nyada was enjoying the scenery as her beloved Arden told her about. It was only a day since she left, yet she missed him terribly. "Ugghhhh! Knowing Arden he boarded the wrong shuttle and ended up somewhere else entirely!" She laughed to herself. She then got a message on her personal data comm. It was from an her personal banker in regards to her bank accounts. {It read}- *Your accounts have been forwarded twenty million credits. Such was the wish of an unknown party. They also left a side note to you as well; "The past deeds of those close to you would be enough to ruin your life. Start anew with what is here." I'm afraid that is all. As I mentioned the credits are already deposited and can be used at any time. Good day.* After reading Nyada began to worry about the cryptic message and it's meaning. Nervous now she tried to secure a holo-channel with her father at D.E. Not getting an answer she tried to holo Everic's personal comm as well under the alias of Arden, his as well not responding. She sat on the bed, in her gut she couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong. After another few moments she had decided to return to Ghaina. With the new funds she had acquired, she managed to get back within half the day. As she exited the spaceport, she saw the number of injured and looked on in shock, then heard the people speaking about the attack. She then sprinted toward the exit, her heart beating fast, swelling with anguish as she didn't want to believe what she had heard. As she emerged from the space port entrance, her eyes teared up at the sight before her; Duranium Entroplex was completely blown away. As she looked at the enormous crater she knelt to her knees and wept, not knowing the fates of her father nor Arden, yet fearing the worst. She could not control herself as she cried, weeping for her fallen loved ones.

In an undisclosed location, Everic heads to an altar which appears to be glowing. An eerie hiss emits from it, yet the sound holds no sway over him. He kneels before the altar bowing his head in respect as Darth Angul appears before him. He presents the case with the files on Black Spice to him. Angul takes the case using his eerie dark powers then gazes upon Everic who is still kneeled before him. "You have done well. Your skill is increasing beyond even my own expectations. Improvisation and terrifically resourceful, you are a man who has no limits. Remember this moment, it shall be the mark of your greatness. This, Everic is your crowning achievement." He says vanishing into the shadows. Everic no longer feeling the weight of his unnerving presence stands and walks out, he seems to have gained new favor with his Master. The compliment he received neither pleasing nor displeasing him, he headed toward the exit of the dark room, his cold determined gaze ever watchful of the surround.

The Icy Cold Gaze

A young boy stands among the ashes of his home, now burned to the ground. His eyes burn an icy cold, yet no tears mark his dirty face. The crisp cold of the night chills the air, as the rain seems to cascade around him, his world now in ruin. He looks down again at the severely burned bodies of his parents, lying lifeless before him. This was the same all around him, bodies scattered across the ground, some more grotesque than others. All he can remember is the soldiers that came and attacked his home, killing at will, slaughtering everyone in their path. After a few moments of reflection the boy sat down, his hands covered in blood and ash. He could barely recognize his parents if not for his mother's necklace which scarcely survived the inferno. The young boy remained there, not making a sound or moving a muscle, his eyes gone cold.

The rain finally subsided as the night dragged on, the fires from the enemy bombardments now extinguished. The boy still in the same place for more than a few hours now, hears something approach. At first he did not seem to care, then the sound it made, set it apart from the noises around him. He had never heard such a sound before in his young life, it grabbed his attention as he began to seek it out. He then ran through the forest past his home not looking back, the sound growing with each step he took. Finally he came to an open plain and saw a sight that paralyzed him instantly, a fleet of starships in the sky departing the atmosphere. Down below in the plains he saw Imperial soldiers amassing in formation, marching in cadence. These weren't the ones who attacked his home killing everyone he knew however, so he pressed onward. He searched for the sound he had heard which seemed to escape him, he looked around frantically for it. The Imperials were now leaving the area, as the young boy scanned them from afar searching for the captivating sound. Then he heard it again and charged forward into the bulk of the army before him. The young boy broke through their ranks pushing trying to get to the mysterious sound. His breathing became more panicked as he tried to make his way there, the Imperial soldiers simply ignored him as he pushed onward.

Fatigue soon began to set in as the young boy ran for what seemed like miles, his goal nowhere in sight. He then came to an opening and saw a massive figure standing before him, his armor clad in black and a menacing face which resembled a sadistic machine. The boy tried to run past him as well but was quickly picked up and tossed aside. The boy looked at the figure his eyes showing a icy determination now, as if he had to get past this obstacle to reach his goal. He charged again relying on his quick and nimble movements yet he fell short again. The figure approached the boy this time and drew a strange weapon he had never seen before. It hummed a strange sound, yet not the sound he had been searching for. It glowed bright red, as it appeared before his eyes, the figure raising it in his hand ready to strike. The boy watched on, fear nowhere in sight, only fascination at the strange events unfolding around him. Time seemed to slow as he looked at the figure, he then caught a glimpse of a shadowy mist seemingly form. The figure then stopped dead in his tracks, as if something were controlling his actions. His body suddenly flew several feet in the air, then several more in the opposite direction away from the boy. He then saw a streak of lightning follow the figure hitting its intended mark multiple times. That was it, the sound he had heard, the sound that came to him.

The young boy was surrounded now, as the army stood in place watching these events unfold. The shadowy mist revealed a man hooded and cloaked, a strange helm could be seen underneath. The man looked down at the boy for a moment then signaled the army to continue their march. He then turned with his back to the boy, taking a few steps forward. The boy stood up, staring down the man who made the sound he had heard, wanting to know more about it. He knew his world here was no longer his own, even at his tender age his survival instincts were activated. The man stood still, emitting a strange dark aura which slowly enveloped the boy. "Strange. You are not force-sensitive, and yet you have come directly to me..this is most curious." The man in the cloak said to himself lowly. The boy simply looked on his stature not changing nor did he back down or show fear. The man in the cloak still kept his back facing the boy, he then opened a holo-comunicator  and punched in a series of dials before closing it. "What is your name boy?" He said firmly to him. The boy peered up at him, fear now setting in as he was afraid to reply. He swallowed hard then stood his ground as he had come all this way, and there was no going back. "Danny.." He said lowly.

The man in the cloak scoffed to himself after hearing the boy's name then turned to face him. "A child's name. You do not look like a child to me." He said taking a knee before him. The man placed his hand on his shoulder and looked into his icy cold blue eyes. Danny returned his gaze with his own, his fear all but gone. "If you want to be strong you must come with me. I will lead you to the path of power, the power that has drawn you to me. So long as you do my bidding, until your dying breath." He said sternly. Danny nodded in agreement believing this was his destiny now, that this was his path if he wanted to ensure his survival. The man gave a nod to him then rose to his feet, he gestured to Danny to follow as they began their trek with the army across the plain. The massive figure returned, gripping his ribs obviously hurt after what was done to him. He bowed respectfully before the man in the cloak muttering "Lord", then following next to Danny. Surprised by this event Danny did not dwell on it any longer as he saw who was the stronger, the man in the cloak was obviously the one in control here. He followed closely as they made their way to one of the gigantic starships.

They arrived on Dromund Kaas, the Imperial capital of the Empire, the crown jewel of their grand return in all its glory. Danny had never seen such a sight, nor experienced such a sensation at the sight of the exotic and wild creatures on the way to Kaas city. He saw man and beast alike being slain in plain view, it did not seem to bother him however. The man in the cloak handed one of his servants a data-pad then continued into the Sith Sanctum. He took Danny with him, telling him to stay close or he would be killed. Instantly he was being watched by all manner of the Sith within, they obviously took offense to his presence. The man in the cloak however seemed not to care, as they said nothing to him as the pair made their approach to an elevator. They stood in silence side by side, as they went down several floors. After reaching the intended destination, the man leaded Danny deeper into the strange underground caverns. A few minutes of walking lead them to a large bulkhead door, strange runes ran across the archway and no other visible way of opening it could be seen. The man in the cloak rubbed the door with his hand, then stood back as the bulkhead opened revealing a complex.

Loyal servants stood inside near the entrance and bowed as the man in the cloak went past them. Danny was amazed at how they all showed him respect as if he were royalty. The pair then came to an entryway which showed many more servants attending to their duties. The man lead Danny to a small room and walked him inside, he pulled out a desk for him and gestured that he sit down. "From this day forward you will be known as Everic V. Martin an operative with exceptional skill and ability second to none. I shall teach you how to counter and defend against force-sensitives, for you will have to face them someday." He said calmly. He stood and hovered over him for a moment then gazed down at him. "My name is Angul Kahn and I am a Dark Lord of the Sith. As well as your new Master. Never forget whom you serve, for your life is no longer your own." He preached. With those words Angul gestured to the desk for him to look at the data-pad then left him to tend on his own.

Everic's training began the very next day, with Angul training him personally in how to defend against the force. Equipped with a few grenades and a vibroblade Everic was ordered to find the best approach in closing the gap between himself and his enemy. Angul wracked lightning at Everic forcing him to remain on his toes, every bolt intentionally locating their mark. His leg got snared in the lightning as he writhed in pain and clutched his leg. He became angry and charged blindly at Angul, yet was easily repelled without Angul so much as lifting a finger. "Anger is a powerful tool Everic, as well as rage and hatred. But remember it can be easily countered if you charge recklessly into the fray. Learn to channel your rage and hatred. Harness it, then unleash it as a controlled substance." He explained. Everic stood up taking in a few deep breaths then ran toward Angul zig-zagging dodging his lightning much more efficiently. He then stopped and did a barrel roll while throwing a grenade trying to hinder his vision. Everic closed in, vibroblade in hand with the intention to kill as he was told the night prior in the data-pad. He leaped high for his age yet was repelled back by an unseen force and knocked unconscious. Angul looked at his limp body for a moment, then turned walking away, their training obviously concluded for the day.

Angul kept instructing Everic like this every day for a few years, until Everic turned 11. He was much faster and stronger now, his technique growing and his determination unshakable. He had surpassed Angul's expectations on a unique level, and was therefore treated much differently compared to the other child operatives there. In his room he received a transmission from their keeper giving him his first test to be assigned a position and duty as a field agent. He read the details and acknowledged that he understood the mission. It took place in the very first training room that Angul took him to, when he first came here. Everic carefully screened the area as he was expecting opposition, he crept closely to the shadows as he observed his surroundings. He then cautiously stepped into the light, he stood there for a moment his senses heightened ready for whatever may come. Suddenly a massive man jumped down almost landing on Everic, he noticed in time to effectively dodge. The man was much larger than average, and his armor resembled those of the Mandolorian's. Everic scanned his opponent carefully then crept in closer, his ice cold eyes piercing the man, ready to strike. The Mandolorian was much faster than Everic thought as he was quickly upon him, towering greatly. He gave Everic a backhand dazing him, as his mouth filled with his own blood. This man was powerful as well as fast, and he was relentless in his assault as he picked Everic up and launched him across the room.

Everic was now bloody and bruised, he was beginning to lose consciousness, and he knew the price for failure would be his life. The life that his Lord, Angul had given to him, and taught him up to this point. Everic stood up slowly, as the Mandolorian approached closing in for the kill. He yanked Everic up by the throat holding him there, choking the life out of him. Everic began to fade, slowly his world was growing dark, he was dying. The Mandolorian heard something hit the ground between his legs, as he peered down, he saw a corrosive grenade. Everic quickly kicked him in his throat pushing himself out of harms way. The grenade exploded burning through the Mando's armor near his legs as he writhed in pain. Everic trying to catch his breath saw his enemy charged in a rage toward him, he then threw a flash bang blinding his opponent. The light of the flash left his vision blurry and the effects would make him disoriented. Everic crept behind him like a predator vibroblade in hand and served the tendons in his right knee and lower ankle rendering him useless. Disabled and otherwise beaten the Mandolorian looked on stunned, that this child had bested him, a seasoned warrior. Angul appeared and watched as this unfolded, all the while watching Everic's posture, reading his emotions. "You know what must be done Everic." He echoed in his mind. Everic walked slowly up to the Mandolorian who let out a shriek in pain as he was silenced permanently.

Angul looked at him pleased then gave a nod before exiting the room, he acknowledged that his trial was complete. Everic went back to his room and found a data-pad waiting for him on his bed once again. As he read, it instructed him to report to Imperial Intelligence as he would become one of their operatives for the Empire. Yet in the back of his mind he knew where his true allegiance lied, with his Lord Angul Kahn.
